Last updated 17-Jul-2026. DRAFT — for review by David/legal counsel before launch.
The short version: the only personal information this website collects is what you type into the callback form — name, phone number, province and preferred time. We use it to return your call once, then we’re done with it. No marketing lists, no selling data, no tracking you around the internet.
What we collect and why
- Callback form: name, phone number, province, preferred call time. Used solely to return your call about medical alert systems. Legal basis: your consent, given when you submit the form.
- Basic analytics: we use Google Analytics 4 to count visits, pages viewed and calls placed from the site, configured without advertising features. This helps us understand what information helps visitors. You can use the site fully with analytics cookies declined.
- Language preference: a single cookie (
ss_lang) remembers whether you prefer English or French. It identifies a language, not a person.
What we never do
- No sale or rental of personal information, to anyone, ever.
- No marketing email — we don’t even ask for your email address.
- No pre-checked consent boxes, session recording, or advertising trackers.
Who we share information with
If you decide to subscribe to a medical alert service, we pass your contact details to Senior Protection (Toronto, Ontario) — the monitoring provider — to set up your service, and we tell you we’re doing it. Their handling of your ongoing service information (health notes, contacts, billing) is governed by their privacy policy. We share nothing with anyone else, except where Canadian law requires it.
Your rights (PIPEDA and Quebec Law 25)
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, withdraw consent, or ask us to delete it. Quebec residents have these rights under Law 25, including the right to know how information is used and to data portability. To exercise any of them, contact our privacy officer:
Privacy Officer, SeniorSentry.ca
[TODO(launch): named privacy officer + contact email/postal address — David to supply]
Phone: 1-800-000-0000
We respond within 30 days. Callback-form submissions are deleted within 90 days of the completed call. If you’re unsatisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in Quebec, the Commission d’accès à l’information.
Storage and security
The site is hosted on WP Engine infrastructure with encryption in transit (HTTPS). Form submissions are stored in the site’s database, accessible only to SeniorSentry staff, and purged on the schedule above. If a breach ever creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected people and the appropriate regulators as the law requires.
